Jey Uso’s recent push has been controversial.

Uso’s singles run in 2025 as ‘Main Event Jey Uso’ tapered off after WrestleMania 41, and he ended up losing multiple matches.

His brother Jimmy, who is also his tag team partner, called this out on WWE TV and decided it would be best if they were a tag team again. The Usos then went on to win the WWE Tag Team Championships on the final episode of Raw in 2025.

However, Jimmy Uso’s wife, WWE star Naomi, is pregnant, and he had to take time off around the Royal Rumble, leaving Jey to compete in singles bouts once again.

In his latest Elimination Chamber qualifying match, Jey was up against Bronson Reed and the original El Grande Americano (Chad Gable). Reed, who was slated to win the bout and advance, unfortunately suffered a bicep tear during the match, making way for Jey Uso to secure the victory and advance to the Chamber match.

This push isn’t sitting well with fans and critics who have shown their discontent by disliking the highlights video on WWE’s YouTube channel, which has 21000 dislikes.

Jey Uso Responds To Critics

In an appearance on ESPN’s First Take, Uso said he is fully aware of the criticism coming his way but wants to focus instead on performing at the highest level.

Man, just keep watching your TV screen. Open your laptop up, put your iPad up, iPhone out. I’ll be on there somewhere, Uce. ESPN, Netflix, this Saturday, it’s Elimination Chamber man. Pick one, Uce. I’ll be on there Monday, Friday too. Stay blessed, man, stop hating, man. Come to one of these shows, you might change your vibes. You feel me?

Uso will now compete in the Elimination Chamber match on Feb 28th against Cody Rhodes, LA Knight, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, and Randy Orton, all of whom have qualified for the bout.
