Jade Cargill Believes WWE Machine Is What Helps Rhea Ripley
Following her Elimination Chamber victory, Rhea Ripley became the challenger to Jade Cargill’s WWE Women’s Championship.
The two are scheduled to contest for Cargill’s championship at WrestleMania 42, scheduled on April 18 & 19 at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Days after learning about her rival, Cargill accused Ripley of backstage politics in a Twitter post. An online back-and-forth ensued between the wrestlers, with WWE claiming no responsibility for their interaction.
Their conversation even led to a couple of other female superstars like Chelsea Green and Piper Niven to jump to Rhea’s defense.
A few days later, their online interaction transitioned into face-to-face in-ring segments. In this timeline, Jade Cargill aligned herself with former rivals Michin and B-Fab, outnumbering Ripley in the process.
Over consecutive weeks, The Storm managed to gain an advantage over The Eradicator with her new friends. On April 3, however, Ripley’s tag partner, Iyo Sky, came to her aid, thwarting another potential beatdown for Rhea.
Jade Cargill Accuses Rhea Ripley Of Using WWE Machine To Her Advantage
Despite Rhea Ripley denying any role in backstage politics, Jade Cargill continues to maintain that she is in a position of power.
During a recent interview on the Joe Budden podcast, she reiterated her remarks, citing conversations involving Charlotte Flair. Apparently, before Ripley became the #1 contender, there were discussions about Cargill facing Flair at WrestleMania.
It was just, we’ve always teased Charlotte Flair since day one. And every time I had a face-to-face with this girl, we got a huge reaction. I’ve had maybe two face-offs with Rhea. The reaction, it was a total difference in reaction here. I would think that we’ll build more to Rhea because we don’t have history. Not saying Charlotte and I have history, but there’s been more of a reaction with Charlotte and I having attitude and yelling at each other than that.
I believe the reason why we went this route is because it’s more money that’s going to be made going against Rhea.
Jade Cargill was not shy of praising her WrestleMania 42 opponent, but claimed that being in WWE’s system helped her become the superstar that she is today.
I want to say this. I want to say this… Yeah, she’s great. She’s great. But, however, she also is backed and always has been built by WWE. She came from the indies. Yes, she went to NXT. Her character has developed along the way. If you see how she looked when she first got into wrestling to now, it’s a huge transformation.
But also the machine does that for you… It pushes you. It helps you try different things, you know, and she goes out there and she delivers every single time. So, you’re going to do nothing but invest more and more and more. [H/T: Ringside News]
