Jade Cargill Wanted Different WrestleMania Opponent, Not Rhea Ripley
Jade Cargill is set to face Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania 42. However, she did not expect The Eradicator to be her WrestleMania 42 opponent.
Ripley won the 2026 Women’s Elimination Chamber match and chose Cargill as her opponent for WrestleMania. The two stars have been feuding on SmackDown for the past two weeks, building up to their WrestleMania 42 clash.
Just a few weeks before The Showcase of the Immortals, Jade Cargill appeared on Complex Graps The Podcast, where she revealed that she was not expecting to face Rhea Ripley at WrestleMania this year.
Jade Cargill Was Expecting To Face Charlotte Flair At WrestleMania 42
Cargill explained that she thought she would be facing Charlotte Flair at Mania, as the company had been teasing a matchup between them on SmackDown for a long time.
“And I thought that’s actually the opponent I was gonna face at Mania was the likes of Charlotte Flair. We’ve been teasing it for so long, and I think that’s a money making match.
She’s a queen in her own right and I am as well, and I think we have such similar aesthetics sometimes that I think it’s more of a like, who’s who? Who’s really that queen? Or whatever you want to say. I didn’t really dream book Rhea as being the person I would’ve had my Mania match with this year,” she said.
Speaking on the podcast, Cargill vowed to defeat Ripley and keep her WrestleMania streak alive. Currently, she holds a 2-0 record, and this year will mark her third consecutive WrestleMania match.
