Jade Cargill will head into WrestleMania 42 as the WWE Women’s Champion.

Her opponent will be revealed after the Women’s Elimination Chamber match on February 28 at the namesake premium live event.

Over the last several weeks, the outcomes of multiple 3-way matches have determined the contenders; they are Tiffany Stratton, Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Kiana James, and Raquel Rodriguez.

During a recent interview with Chicago Sports Network, The Storm revealed that she did not see any of the aforementioned women challenging her at WrestleMania.

Instead, Jade Cargill thought that she would face Charlotte Flair after being featured in more than one non-wrestling face-off with The Queen.

To go off guard a little bit, I actually thought I was gonna take on Charlotte. So I’m really shocked to see that last Friday she didn’t qualify. So it doesn’t matter, it can be Asuka, it can be Rhea, it can be Tiffany, I already beat Tiffany. It can be whomever, like I said, it doesn’t matter because I’m gonna come out on top as the WWE Women’s Champion at WrestleMania. [H/T: Fightful]

WWE Potentially Signs Off On Jade Cargill Vs. Rhea Ripley At WrestleMania

For the longest time, the WWE creative team was in a dilemma about how to portray Jade Cargill as a dominant champion.

According to a report by Self Made Session, the writers hoped that Bianca Belair would recover from her finger injury, setting up a feud with Cargill, leading to a WrestleMania bout.

Unfortunately, due to Belair undergoing surgery only recently and set to miss WrestleMania, WWE has been forced to activate Plan B, which is set up a Jade Cargill vs. Rhea Ripley match at WrestleMania.

Both Cargill and Ripley have been featured in backstage segments in the recent past.
