Jacob Fatu’s Odds Against Roman Reigns At WWE Backlash
Jacob Fatu vs Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship at Backlash will have fans wondering who would come out on top, and this WWE veteran recently gave his view.
Jacob Fatu came off a victory at WrestleMania 42 against Drew McIntyre in an Unsanctioned match, where he landed the Mighty Moonsault on The Scottish Psychopath, sending him through a table and pinning him for the win.
On the first Raw after WrestleMania 42, Fatu appeared to confront Roman Reigns and challenge him for Reigns’ World Heavyweight Championship, which he won at WrestleMania 42 by defeating CM Punk. Fatu revealed that he wanted all the money and fame that come with being champion as he wants an upgrade for the sake of his wife and kids.
Reigns gave Fatu a week to think about the decision, and, surely enough, Fatu, who is Reigns’ younger cousin, came out on Raw this past Monday and said that he didn’t need a week or even a minute to think about what he wanted and demanded a shot at the World Heavyweight Title, saying that he needs to win it.
Reigns tried to explain to his cousin that, without actually earning a shot at the title, simply giving it to him would make it nepotism, and that’s something he doesn’t intend to do. But before the OTC could finish his statement, Fatu attacked him and choked him out.
WWE Veteran Tommy Carlucci Gives His Thoughts On Jacob Fatu Vs Roman Reigns
On Johnathan Coachman’s YouTube channel, Behind the Turnbuckle Studios, Tommy Carlucci discussed with Gabby the upcoming title bout at Backlash between Roman Reigns and Jacob Fatu on their show, The Last Word.
Carlucci thinks Jacob Fatu doesn’t seem to have a chance at winning the title from Roman Reigns and feels like it’s going to be a “one and done” situation in which the match that happens at Backlash and maybe one more time at another event, after which the stars move on to other feuds.
Now, does Jacob have a shot in hell of winning? Hell no. Not in my book. I think this is one and done and then you move on from there.
Whatever Roman’s next opponent be, this is not going more than two matches,
Gabby. This is one and done for Jacob Fatu. Do you think that’ll happen?
Gabby has a slightly different opinion, and she responds by saying that even though she thinks Reigns would end up winning this bout at Backlash, there should be more levels added to the feud later on, especially now with the Usos in the picture in what seems like a throwback to WWE’s legendary Bloodline saga.
To add to the Samoan star power, the MFTs and Solo Sikoa have also been added to the storyline, but on SmackDown, they insulted Jacob Fatu and later got beaten up by him on last Friday’s episode.
With the Samoan wrestlers’ involvement, this high-profile feud for the World Heavyweight Championship seems to be taking shape and picking up steam quickly heading into the Backlash PLE on May 9th.
