Iyo Sky has now spoken out about her friend and colleague Kairi Sane being released by WWE.

WWE has recently released multiple stars from its roster. These annual talent cuts have been happening regularly in recent years after WrestleMania season, and stars whose contracts have expired or who aren’t in WWE’s plans get released. These talent cuts happen so that the company can manage costs, accommodate new stars on their rosters, and, at times, could be for creative reasons.

This year saw multiple releases from across WWE’s brands, Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and Evolve, but there were some major names on the list that came as a shock to fans. Aleister Black and his wife Zelina Vega are among some of the well-known upper mid-card names to be let go, along with the entire Wyatt Sicks faction and, surprisingly, Kairi Sane.

Sane was part of an ongoing storyline on WWE TV, which involved her mentor, Asuka, being abusive towards her as Iyo Sky tried to persuade her to leave her Senpai and end the abuse. Fans were eagerly waiting for Sane to turn on Asuka and have a match with her, or for this dramatic family betrayal storyline to take its next step.

It wasn’t to be, however, as WWE has now released Kairi Sane, leaving her fanbase disappointed. Iyo Sky has now posted on X  talking about working with Sane and her feelings about the release.

Iyo Sky Reveals Her Feelings After Kairi Sane’s Release From WWE

Iyo Sky, a close friend of Kairi’s, has wrestled her multiple times in recent months as part of her feud with Asuka. She and her former tag team partner, Rhea Ripley, have wrestled The Kabuki Warriors (Asuka and Kairi Sane) for tag team gold and in non-title matches multiple times over the past months.

Sky’s heartfelt Twitter/X post details Sane’s kind and charming personality and how she was good as both a performer and an individual. She declares that Sane is her best friend forever and wishes her the best in her future endeavors.

I understand that everyone, as an athlete, eventually faces a turning point when thinking about their life and career, but I feel so heartbroken that it came at such an unexpected time Kairi was truly loved by all her colleagues, not just as a performer but as a person.

She was kinder than anyone, a little airheaded in the most endearing way, funny, charming, and my proud best friend. A comrade-in-arms who faced countless hardships in America, shed so many tears, and grew together with me. It’s so hard to accept that Kairi won’t be in the passenger seat of the rental car anymore, but… I’m absolutely certain that with her innate talent and the incredible knowledge and experience she’s gained in WWE, Kairi’s new journey will be something truly amazing.

From the bottom of my heart, I wish for my beloved Kairi’s success and happiness. I love you so much Kairi. We’ll be best friends forever and always

It remains to be seen what will happen next for Iyo Sky and Asuka after Sane’s release midway through a developing storyline.
