Injured WWE Star Returns At Royal Rumble

Former WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Liv Morgan made her long awaited return to the ring during the 2024 Royal Rumble.

Morgan last set foot in a WWE ring on the 17th July edition of Raw in a bout that saw she and partner Raquel Rodriguez lose the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship to Chelsea Green and Sonya Deville.

The pair had only reclaimed the titles sixteen days earlier in front of a raucous crowd at London’s o2 Arena at Money In The Bank having been forced to forfeit the gold in March 2023 due to an injury suffered by Morgan.

The loss came after Morgan was attacked prior to the match by Rhea Ripley in an angle recorded to cover for a reoccurrence of the troublesome shoulder injury suffered by the 2022 Money In The Bank winner.

Despite being away from WWE television, Morgan still made the headlines on 15th December after being arrested in Florida for possession of marijuana (not more than 20 grams), possession of drug equipment and possession of drugs, possibly synthetic cannabinoids.

Morgan would avoid jail time and the synthetic marijuana charge was dropped, with the 29 year-old likely to escape with just a small fine.

Liv Morgan Narrowly Misses Out On WWE Royal Rumble Victory

After an absence of over 6 months, Morgan made her stunning return by entering in the number 30 spot at the 2024 Royal Rumble.

Morgan would make it to the final three of the contest, eliminating the debuting Jade Cargill being being dumped out by the eventual winner, Bayley.
