How CM Punk Described Triple H In One Word
CM Punk and Triple H have a long and complicated history in WWE.
In the past, the two shared real-life backstage tension and a professional rivalry. However, since Punk made his return to WWE in November 2023, things have changed significantly, and both of them have been working together in a more collaborative partnership.
Despite their past differences, Punk and Hunter share genuine appreciation and mutual respect for each other. That respect was evident during Punk’s recent appearance on Hot Ones Verses, alongside his wife, AJ Lee, where he was asked to describe Triple H in just one word.

Triple H: “Working With CM Punk Is One of My Favorite Things In TV”
When Punk abruptly left WWE in January 2014, his issues with Triple H were one of the many reasons behind his departure.
Since his return, though, Punk and Triple H have reportedly developed a much better working relationship. In an interview in April 2025, Triple H detailed how his relationship with Punk has evolved in recent years, revealing that they now share a positive dynamic.
We’ve had a couple of moments since his return, there was one moment where he’d return and they told him something creatively and they told me, ‘He does not like this.’ I was like, ‘Okay, I’ll talk to him.’ Went and talked to him. ‘What’s going on?’ I told him the creative and he was like, ‘That’s good, whatever.’
I was like, ‘I know you don’t like it. Everybody’s told me. Let’s be open.’ He complained about what it was and I said, ‘Let’s go sit and talk about it and come up with something good.’ That sort of changed, it was like a paradigm shift for us relationship-wise, and now, it’s a funny thing for me to say, sitting down and being collaborative with CM Punk is one of my favorite things in TV because he shares a very similar view at the end of the day of the business as I do.
