He’s Back! Ex-WWE Star Makes Much-Awaited Return During AEW Dynamite
A huge night of action was planned for AEW Dynamite tonight as the promotion had packed the card with four huge championship matches along with a massive return.
Halfway through the show, none of the titles had changed hands as Kevin Knight shocked MJF with a surprise pin to retain the TNT Championship while Kazuchika Okada retained the AEW International Championship.
Following these two highly anticipated matches, the fans were treated to a massive return as a former WWE star made his return to the promotion after being missing for weeks.
Swerve Strickland returns to AEW tonight on Dynamite
Former AEW World Champion, Swerve Strickland, made a return to the promotion following a five-week long absence. Strickland was featured in a video package that aired live on the show.
The video showcased Swerve beating up several people before picking up and buring Bandido’s poster and interacting with Prince Nana. This indicated a possible new direction for Swerve who could go after the ROH World Title.
Swerve was missing for the last few weeks before showing up tonight. His last AEW appearance came during the March 25 episode of Dynamite where he lost to Kenny Omega during a number one contender’s match for the World Title.
