He’s Back! Ex-WWE SmackDown Star Makes Huge Return After Over A Decade
For the longest time, WWE hadn’t allowed its superstars to make an appearance for any other wrestling promotion other than themselves. With the change in leadership though, the promotion has become a little lenient on that end.
However, they’re still a farcry from how AEW treats its wrestlers when it comes to appearances for other promotions. The Tony-Khan led promotion has no problems in allowing their stars to compete on the independent circuit.
This factor has often been one of the reasons that wrestlers join the All Elite promotion. While there have been many former WWE stars that have joined AEW, Tommaso Ciampa has been the latest one on the list.
Former WWE star returns to the independent circuit
The former SmackDown superstar only recently left the Stamford-based promotion after his contract with the company expired and almost immediately joined All Elite Wrestling.
Taking advantage of AEW’s policy, the Pyscho Killer recently made his return to the independent circuit. Ciampa made an appearance during a recent AAW show, making a return to the promotion after over a decade from his last one.
He showed up in the middle of Rich Swann’s match when the referee was knocked out and took out both of his opponents to help Swann get the win as the crowd cheered him on.
