Heartbreaking Update On Kevin Owens’ Current WWE Status
A disheartening update has emerged about the in-ring future of Kevin Owens.
Owens has been absent from WWE since April 2025. He was scheduled to face Randy Orton in a singles match at WrestleMania 41, but on the April 4 episode of SmackDown, he announced that he was dealing with prolonged neck issues and would need surgery.
His last professional wrestling match was against his Canadian compatriot Sami Zayn in an unsanctioned match at the Elimination Chamber.
Owens subsequently underwent surgery in July. Since then, he has attended public events, although there has been no major development as far as his in-ring return goes.
Sean Ross Sapp discussed Kevin Owens’ WWE status during a recent Fightful Q&A session. He revealed that since the 41-year-old had undergone surgery only in July, there was no significant progress in his comeback.
He revealed that no one in the company had spoken to him about The Prizefighter storyline-wise or anything remotely concerning his return. Sapp further claimed that the company’s higher-ups will decide about his comeback once he is fully healed.
Kevin Owens Attended John Cena’s Final Match
During his time away from WWE, Kevin Owens has been active on social media and has been spotted in public several times.
Around Halloween, he shared pictures of himself online, dressed up in John Cena’s gear, which the latter acknowledged by sharing a photo of Owens on his social media account.
Cena, on the other hand, retired from wrestling on December 13 after losing to Gunther at Saturday Night’s Main Event XLII.
The event was a huge media spectacle, with the who’s who of the wrestling world and sports attending it.
One of the attendees was Kevin Owens, who received a huge pop from the audience at Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. Currently, this remains his last public appearance to date.
