Big E has been out of action due to a broken neck and now his good friend Kofi Kingston has provided an update on a potential in-ring return.

The New Day trio has accomplished a lot during their WWE careers as multiple-time Tag Team Champions, which includes the longest title reign in company history.

In addition to their tag team success, Kofi Kingston and Big E are former WWE Champions while Xavier Woods has been the King of the Ring as well.

Unfortunately, Big E suffered a broken neck on the March 11th episode of Smackdown when Ridge Holland gave him a suplex on the floor. Big E hasn’t been able to wrestle since then, but on July 4th, Big E tweeted that he won’t need surgery.

Kingston was interviewed recently by Steve Fall of NBC Sports Boston, who mentioned WWE possibly introducing Trios Tag Team Titles, which led to Kingston giving an update on Big E.

“Anything is possible. I feel, like you said, there’s a lot of trios going on – Sheamus and the Brawling Brutes, The Bloodline, The New Day too. We see how E does in coming back. He’s getting a lot better too for those who are concerned and what not. He was actually roller skating the other day. I was like ‘Oh my God, is he okay? You’re alright man?’ He’s coming along and he’s in great spirits. We’re just kind of taking it one day at a time but I think a trios title would be interesting, it would obviously be something that has never been done before in WWE so who knows. You gotta stay tuned and watch to find out.”

Big E recently made an appearance on the October 5th edition of WWE’s The Bump Youtube show along with former WWE superstar Tyler Breeze.
