“Frustration” In WWE Over Latest Releases

WWE Triple H Vince McMahon

There are those in WWE not at all happy over the latest releases in the company and the timing that’s gone with them.

Following the WWE takeover by Endeavor over a hundred office staff were let go by the company in layoffs that had been widely expected. What was less certain was the effect of the merger on the WWE roster but now it seems that cuts have returned on that front as well.

Fightful Select has reported that the latest round of cuts has caused “frustration” for some in the company as they have taken place just hours after the company announced a $1.4 billion deal to take SmackDown back to the USA Network beginning in 2024.

The news also comes on the day that WWE announced that they were bringing the Elimination Chamber to a stadium in Perth, Australia for a show that is highly likely to have been subsidised by the Western Australia government.

A top star is noted as saying that many that have been released “barely had a chance” in the company as they were never booked and referred to the situation as “a circle that could never be escaped.” Several talents are also said to have been of the belief that the days of mass cuts were in the past and deals would just be allowed to expire as had happened more recently.

Who has been released by WWE?

Mustafa Ali was the first to go public with the news that he had been released by WWE and was soon followed by Emma who previously suffered the same fate in 2017.

Rick Boogs, Elias, Top Dolla, Aliyah, Riddick Moss, and Shelton Benjamin have all either been reported to have or have confirmed their own WWE departure.
