A former WWE star was worried after a spot with Randy Orton went horribly wrong.

Heidenreich wrestled for the WWE for many years. Although he didn’t accomplish much during his WWE tenure, he still got to step in the ring with some of the best in the business. He had a long feud with The Undertaker that defined his career. He was also known for his infamous backstage segment with Michael Cole on SmackDown, which the former WWE star has termed as disturbing.

He even formed a tag team with Road Warrior Animal called Legion of Doom, and they won the Tag Team Titles. Heidenreich’s WWE run ended in 2006 after he failed to get over as a top star in the promotion. Following his release, Heidenreich continued to work on the independent scene until 2018. However, his run in the WWE could’ve ended a lot sooner due to a horrible spot involving Randy Orton.

Heidenreich nearly injured Randy Orton during a failed spot

During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet, Heidenreich revealed that he was practicing with Randy Orton one day. They planned to do a sunset flip spot. However, the former WWE star landed on Orton’s face and neck. He thought his career was over because he believed he had injured Orton since he landed on the latter’s neck. Heidenreich recalled an ambulance being called to the spot. He was considering quitting if he hurt Orton.

“Me and Randy, we were actually practicing one day, and I went to give him a sunset flip, or he was giving one, and I lost my balance and fell on him. I landed on his face and neck, and I thought I hurt him, man. I was like, I’m done. That’s Randy Orton.  I thought I might have hurt his neck. He turned out to be fine. They called an ambulance, bro, because I thought I landed on his face and his neck, and I was thinking, Oh my god, if I hurt him, I’ll say I’m just gonna quit, because they might kill me.” [H/T Chrisvanvliet.com]

Randy Orton was considered a promising star back then and was set to be the future of the company. It’s amazing that Randy Orton was such a promising star back then that Heidenreich was afraid of losing his job because he thought he injured The Viper.
