Former WWE Name Makes Stunning AEW Dynamite Appearance
AEW is moving rapidly towards the upcoming Forbidden Door 2026 pay-per-view, set for the SAP Center in San Jose, California, on June 28, 2026. The AEWxNJPW event will see stars from both promotions take on each other in exciting clashes.
One of the most anticipated clashes scheduled for the show will see Kenny Omega face off against NJPW’s Zack Sabre Jr for the first time since their classic singles match at the G1 Climax in 2018.
The duo hasn’t faced off against each other in almost a decade now, leading to the anticipation regarding their match. Omega has always had the better of Sabre till now, and the NJPW star will be keen to change that later this month.
Former WWE competitor confronted Kenny Omega on AEW Dynamite
After MJF’s tag team partners for the Forbidden Door main event were confirmed by Don Callis on AEW Dynamite tonight, Kenny Omega got the in-ring action underway with a quick victory.
He quickly defeated a local competitor, making light work of him and pinning him after hitting the One-Winged Angel. Following his match, Zack Sabre Jr made a surprise appearance on the show along with his TMDK stablemates.

Sabre Jr, who competed at WWE’s Cruiserweight Classic in 2016, made his way to the ring just as Omega got out of it, as he was outnumbered. However, that wasn’t the case for long as Omega had his own backup in The Elite.
Omega rubbed in Sabre’s face that he had never beaten him and taunted him by stating it’d look really good for him to get a “big fat W against Kenny Omega”, raising the stakes for their clash.
