Ex-WWE Star Accuses Vince McMahon Of Stealing His Creative Ideas

Vince McMahon WWE

Vince McMahon is often credited for transforming the wrestling industry while being in charge of WWE.

Since early 2024, he has not been a part of the promotion after resigning due to a sexual assault and trafficking lawsuit filed against him by a former employee.

While business insiders close to him still speak highly about him, a former male talent has come forward claiming McMahon stole his creative ideas.

Damien Sandown had multiple stints with the Stamford promotion. Arguably, his most popular gimmick was that of The Miz’s stunt double; that period also saw his name tweaked to Damien Mizdow.

Speaking on TMZ’s Inside The Ring recently, the 43-year-old said that there were at least two pitches he made to Vince McMahon, which the boss agreed to, but later used them with other wrestlers.

He also revealed that the experience led him to stop sharing creative ideas with the then-WWE boss.

Ex-WWE Star Believes Vince McMahon Still Influences Storylines

In late December 2025, court filings revealed that Vince McMahon was involved in the creative process leading up to WrestleMania 39.

Despite Triple H taking over as the head of the creative team in 2022, McMahon’s involvement may not have come as a surprise to many critics and fans.

While speaking on his YouTube podcast, ex-WWE talent Shane Douglas said that he believes Hunter still discusses creative ideas with his 80-year-old father-in-law.

The problem I think is that even though Vince is supposedly gone, who did Hunter learn from? Vince. Who did Stephanie learn from? Vince. So them still being involved in it, they’re probably going to keep getting Vince.

It wouldn’t surprise you in the least if, in fact, it would be my expectation that Hunter’s probably talking to him quite a lot. That’s not to say that Hunter’s not creating his own ideas or… putting his own stamp on it.
