Ex-WWE Champion Confirms All Ties Cut With Iconic Faction
This former popular WWE star and champion has moved on from his faction.
The New Day is currently part of WWE programming, competing in the tag team division.
The faction comprises Kofi Kingston, Xavier Woods, and new member Grayson Waller, who replaced former member Big E.
Big E announced his retirement from in-ring action officially in 2025. He suffered a severe neck injury in a tag team match on SmackDown in March 2022 when he was wrestling Ridge Holland of the Brawling Brutes at ringside as Kingston and Sheamus fought in the ring. Big E received a Belly-to-Back suplex from Holland and awkwardly landed on his neck.
After realising that his neck had only recovered fibrously two years later and not formed new bone structure, Big E officially announced his retirement.
He has since been a part of various WWE shows.
Former WWE Champion Big E Wants Nothing To Do With New Day Now
When asked in an interview on Beat on The Radio Row about how his old factionmates in New Day were doing, Big E responded, saying there’s no “we” anymore. He also doesn’t recognize what Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods have now become.
There’s no we anymore. They are doing their own things. They say ‘kick rocks’ and I said ‘Gladly, I don’t need you fools anywhere, so they do their things, I do mine.’
This comes after Big E briefly returned to try to manage The New Day in 2024, but the duo kicked Big E out and turned heel. When asked in the same interview why New Day replaced him with Grayson Waller as Big G, he said he can’t answer the “whys” right now. He went on to say that he doesn’t know them anymore and has many more things to do, like hosting “The Evaluation” on February 12th.
