Ex-WWE Champion Blasts Creative: “Script S*cked… I Hated It”
Ex-WWE star Braun Strowman “hated” WWE creative.
Strowman was released from WWE in May 2025 after the company chose not to renew his contract following WrestleMania 41. Following his release, Strowman has shifted his focus to entertainment and entrepreneurship.
He stars in the USA Network series Everything on the Menu with Braun Strowman, a food-themed show where he travels across America to eat every item on a restaurant’s menu.
He has also launched a tequila brand called Quintaliza and co-founded a production company, Meat Castle Media. Additionally, he is set to feature in the upcoming movie Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon.
Ex-Universal Champion Braun Strowman Reflects on WWE Run
Braun Strowman had an interview with The Hollywood Reporter on March 24, where he discussed his time in WWE. He revealed that he didn’t have creative freedom in WWE.
Strowman added that although he loved his time in the Stamford-based company, having his “hands tied” creatively during his 12-year run made it a somewhat bittersweet experience. He added that his current work allows him to contribute his own creative ideas.
“For me, the big eye-opening thing was not having my hands tied. They’ve allowed me to be me, whereas my hands were tied creatively for the last 12 years (in WWE), and while that’s not a bad thing — I was very blessed with what I got to do — but at the end of the day, I was playing a character on a show and sometimes the script sucked. I mean, no offense, I hated it, but I had to go in there and make the best of it because that was my job.”
“Well, now with this opportunity… my creative input is welcomed, it’s not dismissed.”
