Former WWE Women’s Champion Nia Jax recently addressed the topic of her potential retirement.

The 41-year-old star began her wrestling journey in WWE after signing a contract in early 2014 and made her in-ring debut in May 2015 at an NXT house show. She later moved to the main roster as part of the 2016 WWE Draft, where she was assigned to the Raw brand.

On November 4, 2021, she was released from WWE after requesting time off to focus on her mental health. She made a one-off return during the 2023 Women’s Royal Rumble before officially returning full-time on the September 11 episode of WWE Raw, where she attacked Raquel Rodriguez and Rhea Ripley.

Jax is currently aligned with Lash Legend and has been dominating the women’s tag team division on SmackDown. She also recently appeared in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

Nia Jax Wants Her WWE Retirement To “Happen Naturally”

Following her Royal Rumble appearance, Nia Jax sat down with Chris Van Vliet on the Insight podcast. When asked how much longer she plans to continue wrestling, Jax said she has not seriously thought about retirement.

She explained that whenever new talent joins the main roster or new opportunities arise, she feels motivated to keep going, as she enjoys working with and helping younger stars. Jax added that she wants her transition into retirement to happen naturally and has not set a timeline yet.

Question: Do you think about how much longer you want to wrestle?

Jax: “No, because as many times as I’m like, Well, maybe after this, or I’ve won this title and I’ve done this, I’m like, Oh, I can still do this. Then I see all this new talent, I’m like, Hey, I would love to work with this new talent and do stuff with them and help them out. So I haven’t really said, Oh, this is when I’m going to be done. I hope it just happens naturally, where it’s like, Okay, I think, I think it’s my time, where I’ve kind of given enough back to the business that’s given a lot to me. So we’ll see.”
