Ex-Champion Drops Title Amid Reports Of WWE Signing

Triple H WWE

One of the top international wrestling stars has dropped their title as it seems they’re on their way to WWE.

WWE appears poised to add one of Europe’s brightest rising stars to its growing global roster as reports emerge that British standout Rayne Leverkusen has signed with the company.

Fightful Select reported that sources in the British wrestling scene have strongly indicated that Leverkusen has agreed to terms with the sports entertainment giant following a breakout run on the independent circuit.

“The Maiden of Metal” made waves last year when she was named MVP of WWE’s SummerSlam 2025 tryouts. WWE Performance Center Head Coach Matt Bloom said she “raised the bar” among dozens of participants.

Rayne Leverkusen Loses Gold Before WWE Start

Since debuting in 2021, Leverkusen has wrestled across Europe for promotions such as PROGRESS Wrestling, Pro-Wrestling: EVE, Mystery Wrestling, and others. She lost the PROGRESS Women’s Championship to Alexxis Falcon in January 2026, and now she’s given another sign that she is saying goodbye to the independent scene.

On February 5th, Rayne Leverkusen lost the Hustle Title in London, England to Alexander Roth. That title change came after Leverkusen had already defeated Tate Mayfairs.

Leverkusen looks set to become the latest European star to make her mark in a major US company, following in the footsteps of female stars such as Becky Lynch, Blake Monroe, Thekla, Jamie Hayter, and Alex Windsor.
