Eddie Kingston Makes Stunning Injury Admission After 19 Months Out

Eddie Kingston AEW

Eddie Kingston was sidelined from May 2024 to September 2025 after suffering a devastating combination of injuries.

The injuries occurred during a brutal No Ropes Last Man Standing match against Gabe Kidd at NJPW STRONG: Resurgence on May 11, 2024.

He fractured his tibia and also tore both his ACL and meniscus in the same knee and had to go under the knife to repair them.

Kingston finally returned to in‑ring action in September 2025, more than 16 months after he sustained the injuries, and has since wrestled consistently.

Eddie Kingston’s “Knee Feels Great”

It has now been 19 months since Eddie Kingston suffered the injuries, and he recently addressed it during an interview on Fightful’s In The Weeds podcast.

When asked how he’s feeling, just over three months since his return, Kingston said he’s feeling great.

He explained that while the old aches and pains from his 25‑year career are still around, they’re manageable and nothing like the major knee injury.

Eddie Kingston emphasized that the big concern was the knee, and now that it feels strong and stable, he’s confident in it and ready to wrestle without fear of re‑injury.

“Still more time. That’s also me never being happy with anything. It’s just like, ‘eh.’ The knee feels great, knock on wood. Knee feels great.

All the old injuries decided to say, ‘Hey, we’re still here.’ I’m getting them more time. Those were the injuries that were just bumps and bruises over 25 years.

They’ll massage it out or I’ll take a shower and put tiger balm (on them) and feel fine.

The one that was big was the knee and the knee feels great. I have no worry about it whatsoever. Once I put the brace on, I’m good to go.”
