Drew McIntyre Has WWE Backstage Heat With Triple H? Truth Revealed
Drew McIntyre lost the WWE Undisputed Championship to Cody Rhodes on the March 6, 2026, episode of Friday Night SmackDown in Portland, Oregon.
Losing the championship so close to WrestleMania 42 has led many people to wonder about the reason behind such a drastic change. Recently, McIntyre also claimed that the management has heat with him. Sportskeeda recently shed some light on the matter.
Real Reason Drew McIntyre Lost the WWE Undisputed Championship
According to Sportskeeda’s Anirban Banerjee, an insider told him that there is no real heat on Drew McIntyre. The only reason Triple H took the title off him is for storyline purposes. In fact, the WWE is very happy with Drew McIntyre and Cody Rhodes’ feud.
It was also highlighted that Triple H supports both Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre, and rumors about McIntyre’s backstage heat with HHH are entirely false.
“Yeah, so there’s no real heat on Drew McIntyre. They took the title off him because that was the plan. As for Mania, there’s some possibilities, but the main thing is that they really love what Drew has done with this feud with Cody Rhodes.
The fact that they have dragged this on for as long as they have is something they are actually looking favorably on, because to carry on such a long feud without letting it get stale at all is something they are all happy about. Triple H especially backs both men a lot. They only took the title off him for storyline reasons for WrestleMania. Things are looking bright.”
