Drew McIntyre Shreds CM Punk To Pieces Ahead Of WWE SmackDown

In a recent interview with Denise Salcedo, Drew McIntyre unloaded on CM Punk.

World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and Roman Reigns cut a promo on Raw a few weeks ago in which Reigns, the 2026 Royal Rumble Winner, would choose Punk as his opponent for WrestleMania 42 over WWE Champion Drew McIntyre.

Both men threw major shade at Drew McIntyre and the blue brand SmackDown, and made it, and McIntyre’s title feel less than their show Raw and their title, respectively.

McIntyre later addressed this with a promo of his own on SmackDown, calling out the two of them for dismissing SmackDown and urging the blue brand’s roster to give it their 150% to prove to the entire WWE roster that they belong just as much.

Drew McIntyre Throws Major Insults At CM Punk In Recent Interview

Drew McIntyre was asked about the comments Punk and Reigns made on Raw by Denise Salcedo ahead of this week’s SmackDown against the backdrop of the new WWE 2K26 video game, saying she didn’t like what the two men had to say about The Scottish Psychopath in the promo.

McIntyre reiterated the fact that it didn’t bother him that they put him down, but it irked him that they insulted SmackDown and the WWE Title.

He then went on to admit his annoyance with Punk’s face that’s on the cover of the WWE 2K26 game, calling him a junkie and a bad example for the kids who buy the video game, as opposed to McIntyre, who’s a distinguished individual.

I see Punk’s stupid mug everywhere around here, and I’m thinking to myself ‘my god, these poor kids.

They’re gonna go buy that video game. Their mother sees it and goes ‘what on earth is this junkie hero? The main character’s a junkie! You’re not gonna buy that game, young man!

You put my face on there, and they go, ‘Yes, I have to buy this.’ I want my kid to grow up to be like this man.
