Drew McIntyre isn’t happy after losing the WWE Title, quitting SmackDown, and returning to take out Jacob Fatu.

It’s been a chaotic start to 2026 for former WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. After winning the WWE Championship on SmackDown in Berlin in January, it looked like McIntyre would carry the gold all the way to WrestleMania 42 on April 18 & 19 in Las Vegas.

Instead of carrying the gold until WrestleMania, Drew McIntyre lost the Undisputed WWE Championship to Cody Rhodes on the March 6th edition of SmackDown because WWE wanted to go with Cody facing the Elimination Chamber match winner, Randy Orton, instead.

On the March 13th edition of WWE SmackDown, Drew McIntyre said he was sick of everything going on and decided to quit WWE. The quitting didn’t last that long since Drew was back later in the show to cost Jacob Fatu his match against Trick Williams. Drew also dropped Fatu with a Claymore Kick.

Drew McIntyre Is Focused On Jacob Fatu

In a video posted on social media, Drew McIntyre addressed his SmackDown walkout and return, as well as his issues with Jacob Fatu, who is likely McIntyre’s WrestleMania opponent.

“Time for a check in. Been a rough few weeks right? Same old story for Drew McIntyre yeah? Difference this time is so many people have been opening their eyes to the truth that I’ve been preaching, they’re realising it’s not whining, it’s not complaining, it’s just been fact this whole time.

I don’t care how many of you are trying to jump on the bandwagon, doesn’t make me champion does it? I’m not gonna shy away from the fact I should be walking into Mania as champion. Family coming to America, nephew should be seeing his Uncle walk down that aisle as champion, but he’s not.

I’m not gonna focus on how it all went down, I’ve done this dance so many times. I’ve gotta keep fighting, I’ve gotta keep pushing forward. This time I’m doing it my way. There’s a bunch of things I’ve gotta focus on but right now lets focus specifically on Jacob.

You can’t move around WWE without bumping into a nepo baby or a fraud, Jacob happens to be both. I’ll say this about him, he’s an animal. Freakishly athletic for a guy that used to resemble a bumblebee, and move like one, but pretty jacked bumblebee these days. Legitimately bad man, he’s a man in a world full of boys, this used to be a man’s business, that’s a bad man, I like that.

But I’m quicker, I’m stronger, I’ve got the experience fighting the best this industry has to offer for a long time, I was on the same roster as Triple H and Shawn Michaels, and that same day when I was looking around at those two, my God there’s Ric Flair in the corner.

I was in the ring with one of the best members of the Bloodline, who didn’t need anyone to fight their battles, I fought Umaga in WWE, that’s how long I’ve been around and yet I’m still one of the grizzled young veterans, at this point I should be way more grizzled all the crap I’ve been through, but I’m the original athletic freak in this game.

Just because you did time Jacob, means nothing to me. Nobody knows my whole story, you don’t know anything about me, you know what I put out there. Everyone says they’re a gangster until a real gangster walks in the room.

What does my future hold? I really don’t know. I really don’t know at this point, but what I do know is that I’ll see you on SmackDown this Friday, Jacob.”
