Drew McIntyre Names Champion He Is Targeting In 2023

Drew McIntyre

Drew McIntyre has his eyes on someone in WWE that ISN’T a world champion.

As of this writing, Drew McIntyre is sidelined with a ruptured eardrum. He isn’t wrestling on any scheduled live events during the holiday season, meaning that the earliest anyone will see him will be in the New Year.

And once 2023 rolls around, McIntyre will go after a very specific person, should he get his way.

Drew McIntyre was interviewed for the December 26th episode of RAW, part of which was shown on Twitter. When asked who he has his eyes on for 2023, McIntyre revealed he wants to go after the current Intercontinental champion GUNTHER.

“I’ve got my eyes on GUNTHER with the Intercontinental Championship. I see the chatter on social media, I see what happened with himself and Sheamus, I saw the battles. I love competition, I’m a former Intercontinental Champion and I would love to tangle with that man.”

Both Drew McIntyre and GUNTHER were in singles competition at WWE Clash at the Castle 2022. While McIntyre was in the main event against Roman Reigns, GUNTHER was on the undercard in a highly-praised IC defense against Sheamus that many fans are calling a Match of the Year caliber contest.
