Drew McIntyre Allegedly Frustrated With WWE Creative

Drew McIntyre currently holds the Undisputed WWE Championship. However, a wrestling veteran believes The Scottish Warrior must be frustrated with his booking.

During a recent interview with the No-Contest Wrestling podcast, John Cena disclosed the original plans for Crown Jewel, revealing that he was supposed to fight Drew McIntyre instead of AJ Styles before they pivoted.

While Cena ended up going one-on-one with The Phenomenal One, McIntyre was taken off the premium live event’s card.

Jonathan Coachman Doubts Drew McIntyre Is Happy With WWE Creative

Speaking on The Coach & Bro Show, former WWE star Jonathan Coachman and his co-host, former head writer Vince Russo, discussed the scrapped plans for Drew McIntyre to fight John Cena at Crown Jewel.

The Coach suggested the current Undisputed WWE Champion must be frustrated by how he is being treated in the Stamford-based company.

Coachman: Drew McIntyre, we kinda glossed over the fact it seems like every turn he’s getting kinda sh*t on. And John Cena inadvertently did that in his statement. He goes, ‘It was supposed to be Drew, but we pivoted.’ Why do they keep pivoting away from putting Drew over?

Russo: Bulletproof. He’s bulletproof. It doesn’t matter. Doesn’t matter what you do to him. He’s bulletproof. He’s gonna go out there and get himself over every time just like Chelsea Green.

Coachman: God, he’s gotta be unbelievably frustrated at this point. Why are you putting all the extra on my shoulders? Why do I have to do it? Why do I have to do it? Just coz I can.

Russo: Yeah, a lot of pressure. [47:17 onwards]
