The new NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio and “Mami” Rhea Ripley will be featured prominently on NXT this week.

It was a busy week for The Judgment Day’s Women’s World Champion Rhea Ripley, new NXT North American Champion “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio, Finn Balor and “Senor” Money in the Bank Damian Priest last week.

In the Raw main event on July 17th, Dominik & Priest lost a WWE Tag Team Title match against the champions, Kevin Owens & Sami Zayn.

Dominik Mysterio bounced back just fine after the Raw loss because he beat Wes Lee for the NXT North American Title in the main event of NXT on July 18th. Dominik got some help after distractions from Balor & Priest while Ripley KO’d Lee with her title leading to Dominik’s cheap victory.

Even though they are part of the Raw roster, Dominik & Ripley were also on Smackdown last Friday with “Dirty” Dom defending the NXT North American Title against Butch. Dominik won that match too. It was actually the last match on the show, but not the main event like Raw & Smackdown since Roman Reigns and Jey Uso’s segment went on last.

It was announced by WWE that Dominik and Rhea are going to kick off NXT this week.

It was previously announced by WWE that Mustafa Ali would challenge the NXT North American Champion at Great American Bash this Sunday, July 30th when it was Wes Lee holding the title. Now that Dominik is holding the title, perhaps Lee will get a rematch and be added to make it a triple threat or they could go in a different direction for the Bash show.

That main event match with Dominik Mysterio and Wes Lee drew really good ratings for NXT with the main event quarter getting about 844,000 viewers, which grew the audience by about 21% from the prior quarter hour.
