Dominik Mysterio On 16-Time WWE Champion: “I Don’t Like Him,” “He Needs To Retire”

Dominik Mysterio said he doesn’t like a WWE Hall of Famer and urged him to retire. The 16-time champion in discussion is Rey Mysterio.

Since his debut in 2002, Rey Mysterio has achieved a legendary status in the WWE. During his tenure, The Master of the 619 has won the World title 3 times, aside from many other title wins. He also groomed his son, Dominik Mysterio to join pro wrestling. However, Dominik turned on his own father back in 2022, and the two had a personal feud for months. The feud culminated in a match at WrestleMania 39, where Rey defeated Dominik.

Rey and Dominik Mysterio faced off one-on-one in another match on RAW in 2024, where Rey got the win once again. While Rey is still going strong in the ring at the age of 51, his son, Dominik wants him to retire now.

Speaking with Esse Magazine, Dominik Mysterio said that he doesn’t like his dad and wants him to retire. Dom also declared himself the greatest Mysterio of all time, claiming he achieved things that his dad couldn’t:

Yeah, I don’t like him. He needs to retire. He’s dragging the Mysterio name down, and the greatest Mysterio of all time is right here in front of you, you know, I’ve done things he’s never done. You know, your AAA Mega Càmpion, things in the WWE that he’ll never accomplish. So I’m just, I’m excited that the Italian fans will finally get a new perspective on the Mysterio name,” Dom stated. Dominik Mysterio on winning the Money in the Bank briefcase

Speaking with Main Event Club recently, Dominik Mysterio made a wild claim that he will cash in on someone taking a sh*t if he wins the Money in the Bank, and he would be intolerable as the briefcase holder:

I mean, fantastic. The last thing any of those boys want is for me to have that Money in the Bank briefcase. I’m an absolute sicko, bro. I’ll cash in on you while you’re taking a sh*t. I don’t care.

I’m going to be Dominik the Menace. People already think I’m a menace. They do not want me with that Money in the Bank briefcase. I’ll be intolerable. It wouldn’t be fun for anybody but me.”

Dominik is the current AAA Mega Champion, and it remains to be seen if he will win the Money in the Bank this year as well.
