Dave Meltzer Reveals NXT Deadline 2023 Match Ratings

Baron Corbin punches Ilja Dragunov

Dave Meltzer has published his match ratings for NXT Deadline.

On December 9th, NXT squeezed in its final Premium Live Event of the year as WWE’s third brand headed to Bridgeport, Connecticut.

The show hosted two Iron Survivor Challenge matches with huge implications, with the winners going on to challenge for NXT gold. In the women’s match, Blair Davenport picked up the win and immediately called out Women’s Champion Lyra Valkyria, but before the champion could make it to the ring a returning Cora Jade attacked her. The young star hadn’t been seen on NXT television since July.

In the men’s match, Trick Williams emerged with the win as his upward momentum continued.

The only title to change hands on the show was the North American Title as Dragon Lee got the better of Dominik Mysterio.

However, the biggest surprise of the night came at the very start of the event when CM Punk joined Shawn Michaels to open the show. The appearance continued Punk’s tour of WWE’s three brands, and he was backstage at the next two tapings, offering advice to WWE’s stars of tomorrow. It’s since been reported that CM Punk is interested in taking Shawn Michaels’ job as head of NXT when the Hall of Famer decides to hang up his cowboy hat.
