Damian Priest Sends Emotional Message To Legend On WWE Anniversary
WWE legend Edge, now known as AEW’s Adam Copeland, recently celebrated a major milestone related to his WWE career, and Damian Priest marked the occasion with a heartfelt message of his own.
Edge made his long-awaited return to wrestling on the January 26, 2020, edition of the Royal Rumble, nine years after retiring in 2011 due to a serious neck injury.
This year, he celebrated the sixth anniversary of that comeback and shared an emotional message on Instagram, reflecting on how lucky he felt to have been given the chance to return.
“So I didn’t realize that today is six years to the day since I came back at the Royal Rumble. For me, every second after that first ‘You Think You Know Me’ at the Rumble in Houston has been a success.
You know the story, I wasn’t supposed to do this, yet here we are six years later. If you told me six years ago that I’d still be doing this after six years I’d have thought you were a little crazy, but man, I’ve been so lucky.”
Damian Priest Feels “Lucky” To Have Worked With Edge
Damian Priest reacted to the post, saying that he and his friends in WWE were the lucky ones for having the opportunity to work with Edge.
“We’re the lucky ones. Grateful for you [emojis],” Damian Priest wrote.
The two were previously involved in a major storyline together as part of The Judgment Day. The faction was formed by Edge at WrestleMania 38 in 2022, but the story took a dramatic turn in June 2022 when Priest betrayed Edge, aligned himself with Finn Bálor, and kicked Edge out of the group.
