Cody Rhodes is set to defend the Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas. Their match is scheduled to main event on Night 1 of the PLE.

The American Nightmare recently appeared on Complex’s Graps podcast on March 11 to hype up the upcoming Mania. During the interview, Rhodes stated that this year’s WrestleMania may not look very huge on paper at first, but it might end up surprising fans and could turn out to be better than many expect.

Cody Rhodes Claims WrestleMania 42 Might Be Better Than Fans Expect

Cody Rhodes further explained that major matches such as CM Punk vs Roman Reigns, his own title match against Randy Orton, and the bout involving Stephanie McMahon and Liv Morgan will not only add to the grandeur of the event but will also provide hardcore wrestling fans with the action and drama they expect from WrestleMania.

“I said something that I don’t love how it came out; what I said was we’re sitting on a ‘sleeper Mania’. I said this like a month ago. What I meant is, a 10 year Mania like 40, you always feel the sense of ‘destiny’, there’s something about that 10 year moment.”

“This year, the matches, we had our main event with CM Punk and Roman Reigns, and now we just got to myself vs. Randy Orton as the other main event at WrestleMania. The other matches that are coming together; Stephanie and Liv, what it clearly looks like Jacob might be doing, you mentioned earlier Sami, I think you’re looking at a bell to bell Mania, the best it’s been.”

“Bell to bell. Wrestling. The type of stuff I grew up on, wrestling, bell to bell. The people who come for the grandeur, the spectacle that is WrestleMania, that’s all there too.”

Cody Rhodes also teased that some exciting names could potentially show up as special guests at the event. He concluded by saying that this year’s WrestleMania might even prove to be “the best WrestleManias of all time.”

“I think I saw some names on a sheet of potential guests that’s really, really exciting for a WrestleMania. But bell to bell, I think they’re gonna get one of the better Manias, if not the best Mania of all time.”
