Cody Rhodes is pushing for more house shows

Cody Rhodes loves the wrestling business and being a wrestler. Despite being part of an already packed schedule of programming weekly on WWE TV, he gives his all during the live events/house shows that WWE does by touring with the roster across America (and most recently, Europe) between TV tapings and PLEs.

House shows are an age-old tradition of the wrestling business since its wrestling territory days. It’s a format where the crowd could connect with the wrestlers by watching the in-ring action without interference from cameras and broadcasting.

During his sit-down with The Undertaker on his What Do You Wanna Talk About podcast, Rhodes opened up about his love for doing house shows.

Cody Rhodes believes that TKO and WWE should hold more house shows, as this old-school mentality helps grow the company’s reach. Although it would mean more time on the road for wrestlers and a hectic schedule, Rhodes believes this is the best way for WWE to create unforgettable moments.

He recalled a recent show at Palm Springs, which, he quotes, had a great crowd.

Palm Springs—this show we did that wasn’t televised was just the most wonderful crowd, and the crowd was hot, and just magical stuff happened. I really want WWE to continue to do more and more and more of these. And I know that’s not necessarily good for all the talent, but that’s when magic happens.

Magic happens when you have to pull something out of your hat in a moment when there’s no net underneath you.

Cody Rhodes Faced Drew McIntyre For The WWE Title At A Recent House Show

Amid their shows of Raw and SmackDown across Europe, WWE did a house show/live event in Poland recently, where Rhodes wrestled McIntyre for the WWE title. Rhodes won the match via disqualification after McIntyre planted a low blow on him.

In official storyline continuity, however, Rhodes has set his sights on facing Jacob Fatu at the Royal Rumble, who interfered and cost Rhodes his WWE Championship on SmackDown a couple of weeks ago.
