Cody Rhodes Makes Major Claim About WWE: “We’re Reloading”
Cody Rhodes will defend his Undisputed WWE Championship against Randy Orton at WrestleMania 42. The Viper turned heel on him during the March 13th edition of Friday Night SmackDown during their contract signing segment.
Ahead of his big clash with the Apex Predator, Cody Rhodes sat down with Breakfast Club Power 105.1 FM to promote the upcoming Showcase of the Immortals event, which is only a few weeks away.
This year’s WrestleMania is going to feature a new generation of rising talents, especially those who recently made their way from NXT to the main roster a few months ago, like Oba Femi, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, and Lash Legend.
Cody Rhodes On WWE Actively Pushing Younger Talents
Here’s what Cody Rhodes had to say regarding the rising talents that are going to be featured at this year’s WrestleMania 42:
“WrestleMania in general, you’re going to see, because you mentioned the old, the good thing about it is you get to see the new too. You get to see the young too. We’re reloading. It’s very clear we’re reloading, and that’s great. It puts the fire on me, and I like that.
But it’s the biggest thing we do. It’s the best thing we do. If you’re ever going to step in, if you don’t like wrestling, if you kind of used to like it, going to a WrestleMania can tell you – if this is gonna be for you, and I think it’s for everybody.”
Oba Femi will challenge Brock Lesnar in a one-on-one match at Mania. Trick Williams is going to challenge Sami Zayn for the United States Championship. Je’Von Evans will participate in the ladder match for the Intercontinental Championship, which is currently held by Penta.
Lash Legend will team up with Nia Jax to put the Women’s Tag Team Championship on the line in a Fatal 4-Way match against The Bella Twins, Charlotte Flair & Alexa Bliss, and Bayley & Lyra Valkyria.
