WWE Champion Cody Rhodes Makes Shocking Real-Life Confession About Dominik Mysterio
Cody Rhodes has admitted something special about another son of a famous wrestler, Dominik Mysterio.
The WWE roster is full of great wrestlers who are the sons or daughters of legendary superstars. There’s a bond among those wrestlers because they feel a lot of pressure to live up to the example set by their parents or grandparents, in some cases.
As the son of WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, Cody Rhodes has had big shoes to follow, and he’s done a very good job of it, especially during his last four years in WWE, which have seen him win the WWE Title three times and have four WrestleMania main event matches.
Dominik Mysterio is in a unique spot as a rising young WWE star, the current AAA Mega Champion, and former Intercontinental Champion. Dominik is also a former WWE Tag Team Champion with his Hall of Fame father, Rey Mysterio. That was before “Dirty Dom” turned on his beloved father nearly four years ago, and they haven’t made up since.
While Cody and Dominik haven’t had a lengthy feud in WWE yet, it’s certainly something that could happen down the road.
Cody Rhodes Thinks Dominik Mysterio Is A Cool Guy
During a recent episode of Cody Rhodes’ What Do You Wanna Talk About Podcast, with Liv Morgan as the guest, they talked about Dirty Dom, since he is Liv’s “boyfriend,” at least in WWE storylines (Dominik is married in real life). Cody went on to make the claim that Dominik is a guy whom Cody doesn’t feel cool around.
“It’s weird because he’ll say something so mean about (CM) Punk in the media and I’m thinking ‘Oh, all of us are, all of us babyfaces are screwed. He’s coming for us all’. And then he’ll be like ‘Oh, Cody’s really cool guy’.
So, I don’t know what I did, but Dom is that one guy, he’s the one, I’m trying to think if there’s another one but Dom is the one guy at work that I feel not cool around. I’ll have a new watch or something and I’ll be like, ‘Hey Dom’ and he’s got a giant sky dweller on, which is a very nice fancy watch. He just oozes charisma.”
As he continued, Cody also made the claim that Dominik is learning about how to be a WWE superstar in a way that is different from others.
“And I also love the fact that Dom is training backwards. He knows psychology, he knows how to engage with fans, he knows how (to work) a live crowd. But the fundamentals have come after all of that, which is a little bit of how I was trained.”
On WWE SmackDown after WrestleMania, Cody Rhodes delivered a powerful promo as the Undisputed WWE Champion. Cody said that he was battered at WrestleMania and the only superpower that he has is that he always gets back up.
Continuing his speech, Cody said that he wanted to send a message at WrestleMania. Cody talked about getting stitches around his eye and staples on the back of his head. Cody said that after the bell, Orton gave him a Punt to the head and Cody is still standing here. Cody said that he had a message for a sarcastic and condescending Sami Zayn, who called Cody the golden boy. Cody said he was adorned in gold and Cody said he’ll be gold, his family will be gold, his friends will be gold, and all of his fans will be gold.
Speaking with confidence, Cody said that the most important message he wants to send to the outside sources that keep interjecting in his WrestleMania plans and get involved in this Nightmare Family party: “You guys are 0-3. Send your best, or count your money and mind your damn business.” That drew a lot of cheers.
To conclude the promo, Cody said that this is the first SmackDown after WrestleMania. Cody said that, as the man holding the richest prize in the sport, it’s easy to find him. Cody said, whether you are from NXT, Raw, SmackDown – wherever it may be, he’s the WWE Champion, and he’s easy to find, and hard to beat.
