CM Punk Takes Fresh Shot At Seth Rollins

Seth Rollins CM Punk on WWE Raw.

The war of words between CM Punk and Seth Rollins continues.

Long before CM Punk found his way back into WWE, Seth Rollins made sure the world knew exactly what he thought of him. In one particularly memorable interview he called Punk “a cancer,” and the insults have continued since the former AEW star arrived back in WWE at Survivor Series.

The pair finally came face to face on the December 11th episode of Raw and sparks flew. Punk declared himself for the Royal Rumble and signed to appear on the red brand, and in response, Rollins said Punk wasn’t welcome and took issue with the star spending years dismissing WWE only to come back.

Appearing on WWE Preview Special, Punk was asked about his history with Rollins, and sharing the ring with the World Heavyweight Champion at the 2014 Royal Rumble.

“I viewed Seth as somebody who was following my footsteps. I think there are a lot of people who are in WWE now who, for better or for worse, looked up to a guy like me. I always like to thank the legends that helped paved the way for the roads that I travel now. Guys like Terry Funk, Eddie Guerrero, Bret Hart, Tracy Smothers, Chris Candido. There are a litany of guys that I always feel, I wouldn’t have gotten the opportunities that I got if it weren’t for them.

I guess I’m in a position where, it feels maybe strange, me vocalizing it, but Seth is a guy, at least I definitely thought it ten years ago. He’s a dude that I don’t think would have gotten the opportunities that he’s gotten if it wasn’t for me. That might hurt some people’s feelings, but facts are facts, they don’t care about your feelings,”

CM Punk Claims Seth Rollins Is Jealous

When asked about Seth Rollins’ animosity toward him, CM Punk said the World Champion could be jealous of him, and that any differences should be settled in the ring.

“What Seth honestly feels about me is none of my business, that’s how I approach it. Maybe he’s jealous, maybe he’s envious, it’s not for me to decide and figure out. Luckily, there is a ring. A lot of times, when you have differences with somebody, you get to settle it in the ring. The Rumble is in my immediate future. If Seth is still the champion when the dust clears, maybe we can talk about it then and settle it in the ring,”

CM Punk has been announced for the January 8th episode of Raw, while Rollins is coming off the back of a successful title defence against Drew McIntyre on January 1st.
