CM Punk Proposes Big Shake-Up to WWE Elimination Chamber Card Order
CM Punk took a shot at the Elimination Chamber card order in a recent interview.
The Second City Saint is scheduled to defend his WWE World Heavyweight Championship in his hometown of Chicago on Saturday.
His challenger is Finn Balor, who attacked Punk a few weeks ago over not being added to the list of participants in the men’s Royal Rumble match.
Later, Balor challenged him for a match at the Chamber PLE, but Raw GM Adam Pearce was reluctant to make it official as it jeopardized the already-advertised CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns match at WrestleMania 42.
However, upon Punk’s insistence, Pearce gave the bout his go-ahead despite knowing its repercussions.
CM Punk Proposes A Few Elimination Chamber Changes
CM Punk has always been known for speaking his mind, something that has gotten him in the wrong books of many people.
Nevertheless, he continues to remain outspoken, this time criticizing WWE’s card order for every Elimination Chamber PLE.
The 47-year-old was on The Morning Mosh Pit podcast, where he proposed a shake-up in the event’s card order as a way to benefit performers who were not part of the Chamber match.
We start the show with an Elimination Chamber. We end the show with Elimination Chamber. Let’s get rid of that too. I think either myself and Finn or Becky and AJ could benefit from possibly going first.
Earlier in the interview, Punk had slammed storylines that tested rivals by featuring them in tag matches.
The wrestling trope. How about the “Can the guys that are wrestling form a tag team and get along (on) the road to WrestleMania?” I’m not trying to tag with Roman over the next eight weeks. Oh, can they? Can they coexist? Man, shut up. The answer is no, and I’ll see you in Las Vegas. [H/T: WrestlingNews.co]
