Why CM Punk Believes Newcomer Is Perfect For WWE
CM Punk says newcomer Danhausen is a great fit for WWE.
Danhausen started his wrestling journey on the independent circuit in 2013. He then joined Ring of Honor in 2019 and later signed with All Elite Wrestling in 2022.
At Elimination Chamber in February 2026, he made his WWE debut, where he emerged from a coffin inside a large wooden crate. Over the next several weeks, he appeared on both Raw and SmackDown.
CM Punk Praises Danhausen, Says He “Always Belonged” In WWE
One of his good friends from his time in AEW, CM Punk, recently had an interview with Unsportsmanlike, where he commented on his friendship with Danhausen. Punk joked that his relationship with Danhausen is more transactional, saying that he gives him money and, in return, Danhausen doesn’t curse him, something he has been seen doing to others on weekly shows.
On a more serious note, CM Punk added that Danhausen is a perfect fit for WWE, stating that talent like him has always belonged in the promotion. Punk praised him further, saying that his gimmick is highly entertaining and versatile.
“I wouldn’t say I’m great friends with him. The relationship is more, I keep giving him money, and he doesn’t curse me. A lot of people need to take a lesson from that. He’s cursing people left and right, and all you have to do is give the guy some cash.”
“He’s perfect for WWE. He’s perfect for what we do. Sometimes, you find a talent that has always kind of belonged here, and you never really realized it. He’s somebody who, to me, is a throwback. He’s a bit of a gimmick, but he’s so entertaining. You can put him in any single situation, and it’s more about how other people react or don’t react to him. Hopefully, I said enough nice things about him that he’s not gonna curse me.” {H/T Fightful}
