CM Punk Wants To Face Female WWE Star In Final Match: “My Wife Is In Love With Her”
CM Punk had some fun when asked about his potential final WWE match.
The Undisputed WWE Champion CM Punk is coming off a big win at Saturday Night’s Main Event. In the main event of the show at Madison Square Garden, Punk teamed up with his SummerSlam opponent, Cody Rhodes, to defeat Gunther and Sami Zayn.
It was a controversial finish that saw Nick Aldis get involved to cost his rival Gunther the match, which allowed Punk and Rhodes to pick up the victory.
After the match, Punk accidentally hit Cody while Punk was putting the WWE Title on his shoulder. That led to a backstage altercation between Punk and Cody that was posted on WWE’s social media channels, until the company chose to delete the video.
At the SummerSlam Kickoff event, the good friends Punk and Rhodes got into an argument that led to Punk pie-facing Rhodes while on stage, and then the cops had to be called to separate them.
Away from the ring, CM Punk appeared at San Diego Comic Con with his wife, WWE legend AJ Lee, and numerous others. When Lee was asked about who she would want her final match to be with, she mentioned Bayley, and that led to this humorous exchange.
AJ Lee: “I’m gonna say Bayley because I love her.”
CM Punk: “I’m gonna say Bayley because my wife is in love with her.”
Danhausen: “I’m gonna say Bayley because I think she [inaudible]”
Lash Legend: “I want Bayley too.”
Rey Mysterio: “I’m gonna roll with the punches, Bayley.”
Mr Iguana: “I think it’ll be Rey.”
Danhausen: “You get out of here, you ruined it.”
Obviously, wrestlers other than Lee were probably joking, although it could be true in Lash Legend’s case. Thanks to Denise Salcedo for the video of the exchange.
