CM Punk Admits “I Could Have Died” Due To Serious Injury

CM Punk upset

CM Punk claims that an injury he suffered early in his wrestling career nearly ended his life.

At 47, CM Punk is one of the older full-time WWE superstars, but the current World Heavyweight Champion is still performing at a high level while reminding fans that he is the “Best in the World.”

It’s incredible to think that he’s still performing at a high level after starting out as a wrestler nearly 30 years ago. However, Punk also took a “break” for about seven years, so that is a factor too.

As part of the NFL Super Bowl 60 week, WWE sent CM Punk on a media blitz to promote the company, WrestleMania, and other things.

During an interview with the Ross Tucker podcast, Punk was asked about the worst injuries he’s suffered in the ring.

“I mean, probably the worst one was a fractured skull. That was pretty interesting. My head hit another guy’s head, and we kind of sandwiched on the mat at the same time.

Yeah, that wasn’t fun. I mean, it got pretty serious. Like, we look back at it now and we all laugh, but like, I could have died. And it’s just funny now because I didn’t. Man, it would have stunk if I did.”

The injury was in 2002 against a wrestler named Reckless Youth.

CM Punk Thinks He Outsmarted Roman Reigns To Set Up WrestleMania Match

Roman Reigns won the WWE Royal Rumble in Riyadh, and two nights later on Raw in Philadelphia, the World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk confronted him, and the match became official for WrestleMania 42.

While talking about his promo exchange with Reigns on Raw, CM Punk said it was the match he wanted at WrestleMania 42.

That’s exactly what I wanted. You know, I feel like I played the little Samoan like a fiddle. Got what I wanted out of it. Um, we’re headed towards Las Vegas. I think single tickets are on sale. And you can see me right there. Is that me beating him up? Yeah. I love it.

Uh, yeah. Listen, um, I didn’t cause I’m the champ. So, I feel like everybody’s chasing me. It’s the way it should be. And he made the right decision, right?

Before he gets to WrestleMania, CM Punk is likely going to defend the World Title against Finn Balor at Elimination Chamber on February 28th in Punk’s hometown of Chicago. The match isn’t official yet.
