Christian Cage’s AEW Group Gets New Name

The Patriarchy - Christian Cage, Nick Wayne & Luchasaurus

It would seem Christian Cage’s stable will have a new name as they head in to their upcoming match at Full Gear.

Whilst showing his mean streak and mocking plenty of members of the AEW roster, Christian Cage has also formed an alliance with Luchasaurus and most recently Nick Wayne. This has led to particular problems with Cage’s former tag partner and recent AEW acquisition, Adam Copeland.

This has led to Copeland forming an allegiance with Sting and Darby Allin, who will take on Cage’s combination at Full Gear. They also had an outing together in a trios match on the 11th November edition of AEW Dynamite, as Copeland, Sting and Allin picked up the victory over The Righteous and Lance Archer.

Now, however, it seems Christian Cage’s team has a new name, even though he isn’t the one who has revealed it himself.

Nigel McGuinness Names Christian Cage’s Team On AEW Collision

During the main event of AEW Collision, there were plenty of references to the upcoming trios contest at Full Gear. However, on multiple occasions Nigel McGuinness referred to Christian Cage’s trio as ‘The Patriarchy’.

Although that doesn’t mean it’s in writing anywhere, it’s important to note that this week’s edition of Collision was taped after a live episode of Dynamite, rather than the usual format where Rampage is recorded after Dynamite and Collision is a separate live show.

This means that if AEW didn’t want the reference on the show, they would have had time to edit it out before broadcast, leaning towards that it was a conscious decision to give the team that name.

There have been plenty of plaudits for Cage’s current run as a villain. However, a former WWE star has recalled how Christian Cage once saved him during a match.
