Is Chris Jericho returning to WWE this week on SmackDown?
The January 23 edition of Friday Night SmackDown will be held at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada. The venue will also host Saturday Night’s Main Event the following evening, on January 24, 2026.
Since The Demo God is an American-Canadian superstar. Given his Canadian roots, the WWE Universe is expecting and hoping for him to return on the blue brand show in Montreal this week.
Chris Jericho Is Busy This Weekend
PWInsider released a report on January 21, 2026, talking about Chris Jericho’s potential return on SmackDown on January 23 or Saturday Night Main Event on January 24 in Montreal.
According to the report, Y2J is set to perform at JAMM Night on Friday, January 23, 2026, at the Anaheim Convention Center Arena in Anaheim, California. Plus, he’ll be busy the whole weekend. Hence, a WWE return on January 23 or 24 is not possible.
“Jericho is advertised to perform this Friday 1/23 at The Anaheim Arena at JAMM Night,” PWInsider reported. “A free concert slated as part of this year’s National Association of Music Merchants gathering.”
“We are told Jericho is expected to be at NAMM for the remainder of the weekend, so unless there’s a last second change, he’ll be in the Los Angeles area, not at SmackDown or SNME.”
Chris Jericho left AEW after his contract reportedly ended on December 3, 2025. The WWE Universe is dying to see him back in the Stamford-based promotion.
He is highly rumored to make his WWE return at the 2026 Royal Rumble, scheduled for Saturday, January 31, 2026, at the King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
