Chelsea Green Made Major Request To WWE Following Injury

It’s never a happy feeling to see a performer like Chelsea Green get injured.

Sadly, that happened on the February 6 episode of WWE SmackDown, where Green competed in a 3-way Elimination Chamber qualifying match against Tiffany Stratton and Lash Legend.

During the match, she performed high-risk maneuvers, including a coast-to-coast, to bring the crowd to its feet.

While Stratton ultimately won the fight, it was later revealed that Green had suffered a broken ankle during one of her spots.

She was subsequently replaced by La Hiedra during her AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championship defense against Lola Vice and Mr. Iguana on February 7.

Unfortunately, Chelsea Green lost the title, too, after La Hiedra and her tag partner, Ethan Page, suffered a loss.

Chelsea Green Made Unique Request To WWE Following Injury

Chelsea Green is a beloved figure in WWE, and despite being a heel, she earns huge pops from the audience everywhere she goes.

While speaking on a recent episode of the Busted Open podcast, the 34-year-old provided an update on her injury and revealed that she made a request to her bosses to keep her on TV despite her situation.

I’m good, I’m sore. The ankle is chipped. I mean, the internet knew my ankle was all sorts of things before I even knew. But, yeah, it’s broken but it’s not the worst kind of break so we’re good, we’re good. We’re healing up very quickly which I’m so thankful for.

So when I broke it and found out — I broke it on Friday but I actually didn’t find out till Wednesday. Well, I had already done three Disney and Universal days. I had already been drinking and walking and rollercoastering. So I was like, ‘Well, if I can do all that, let me just text work and I wanna work. I wanna be in a wheelchair or I wanna be hobbling around in a boot.’ I mean, come on. Come on. So many fun things. [H/T: Fightful]

WWE obviously granted Green her wish because she was seen in a wheelchair during Alba Fyre’s match against Tiffany Stratton on the February 20 episode of SmackDown.
