Brock Lesnar will likely have a huge match at WrestleMania 42, but his opponent doesn’t appear to be locked in yet.

The former 10-time WWE World Champion, Brock Lesnar, has competed in just three matches since his WWE return at SummerSlam 2025, after a two-year absence.

Lesnar beat John Cena at Wrestlepalooza last September, then he was part of the winning heel team at Survivor Series WarGames, and his most recent match was at the Royal Rumble in Riyadh.

During the Royal Rumble, Brock Lesnar had a face-off with former 2-time NXT Champion Oba Femi, who matches up physically with Lesnar and, as someone 20 years younger, many people see the two men having a big match in the near future.

When Oba Femi spoke about the showdown with Lesnar during a recent interview, he called it a big money fight.

“In that moment, you have that mental agreement like yes, we know we have something so let’s not give away too much right now. I’m glad it got the reaction, I’m glad the IWC desires actually translates to the live crowd and what’s the casual fans want to see. That’s an amazing realization. We have something there, it’s a big money fight.”

Brock Lesnar May Face Somebody Other Than Oba Femi At WrestleMania 42

WWE has announced that Brock Lesnar will appear on the February 23rd episode of Raw in Atlanta, where it’s likely that it will tease who he might be facing at WrestleMania 42 on April 18 & 19 in Las Vegas.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that as of late January, Lesnar’s WrestleMania 42 opponent was penciled in as LA Knight, not Oba Femi.

“The Brock Lesnar direction for Raw is likely to be teased at the 2/23 Raw in Atlanta when he returns. There was a tease at the Royal Rumble of Oba Femi and after the Rumble we were only told that it was not a sure thing yet.

We do know that in the lineup in late January for the show, that Lesnar was listed as facing LA Knight. But in the Rumble, nothing memorable was done in that direction while the Lesnar-Femi face-off was set up to get a big reaction and actually got the biggest reaction of the show except for Brie Bella.”

During the Royal Rumble match, LA Knight and Cody Rhodes hit a double clothesline on Lesnar to eliminate “The Beast Incarnate,” although a Lesnar-Knight rivalry wasn’t pushed heavily.

On a recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, Meltzer said the Lesnar-Femi match could happen, but it’s not 100% set.

“That’s not 100 percent by the way…it could happen. I’m not saying it’s not happening. I’m just saying that I was told this one’s not 100 per cent, and that was the Lesnar and Oba Femi match.”

At 48, Lesnar could be nearing the end of his run as a WWE superstar, but unlike his fellow wrestlers of the same age, such as John Cena and AJ Styles, Lesnar isn’t someone who talks about that publicly.
