Breaking: WWE Star’s Retirement Confirmed After Injury At WrestleMania 42

A major WWE star’s career has officially ended after WrestleMania 42.

Pat McAfee made a shocking return to SmackDown a few weeks ago after several months of absence to align with Randy Orton against Cody Rhodes.

The former NFL star vowed to help The Viper win his 15th world championship at this year’s Show of Shows. Meanwhile, he promised to leave the wrestling business for good if he failed in his mission.

Last night at WrestleMania Saturday, McAfee was taken out early on in the match by Rhodes and Jelly Roll, who made a surprise appearance. Nevertheless, the former color commentator later returned in a referee’s shirt to help Orton.

After failing to count a pinfall on The American Nightmare, McAfee was shockingly RKO’d by Orton. Rhodes quickly capitalized and hit The Viper with a Cross Rhodes to retain his title.

Earlier today, Samantha McAfee took to her Instagram Stories to share a photo of her husband, Pat McAfee, lying in bed wearing a neck brace.

In the caption, she confirmed that the former NFL star’s wrestling career is over, thanking Jelly Roll.
