Breaking: WWE Champion Vacates Title
A 147-day WWE championship reign has come to an end.
Kendal Grey joined the Stamford-based company’s NIL program in 2023. Since then, she has competed on NXT and Evolve. Last October, the 24-year-old defeated Kali Armstrong at Evolve: Succession to capture the Evolve Women’s Championship.
After successfully defending the title on multiple occasions on NXT, Evolve, and at live events, Grey put her championship on the line against Tyra Mae Steele. Despite winning the match, the former member of the No Quarter Catch Crew vacated her title.
Kendal Grey Is Heading To WWE NXT
Kendal Grey’s Evolve Championship match against Tyra Mae Steele marked her final on the brand as she is set to move to become an NXT full-time superstar.
The rising star last wrestled on NXT last month, teaming up with her WrenQCC partner, Wren Sinclair, in a losing effort against ZaRuca. She has since competed at multiple NXT live events.
