Breaking: Cody Rhodes Injured At WWE WrestleMania 42; Enters Concussion Protocol

Cody Rhodes has suffered a major injury at WWE WrestleMania 42.

Heading into this year’s Show of Shows, The Viper turned heel and aligned himself with Pat McAfee while feuding with the Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.

Tonight at WrestleMania, Orton and Rhodes engaged in a bloody battle after Jelly Roll took out McAfee earlier in the match. However, McAfee later returned to aid The Viper. Shockingly, the 14-time world champion then turned on his ally and hit him with an RKO.

The American Nightmare capitalized on the betrayal and put Orton away to retain the title.

After the match, The Viper continued the assault, hitting his former friend with the title belt before delivering the banned punk kick.

Following the show, a bloodied Cody Rhodes was seen walking to the back on his own as Jackie Redmond addressed the panel. Although Redmond noted that The American Nightmare was battered, bruised, and bloodied.

Later on the post-show, it was revealed that Rhodes had suffered an injury to his left eye, which appeared swollen and nearly shut. Doctors were seen tending to him backstage.

Peter Rosenberg also pointed out that The American Nightmare will be in concussion protocol for the next three days.
