Booker T Claims Former World Champion Is “Past His Prime”

Booker T stands backstage on WWE Raw 2022

WWE Hall of Famer Booker T has claimed a former world champion has “wasted a lot of time” in their current promotion.

Nick Aldis was the crown jewel in Billy Corgan’s revival of the NWA brand with the Englishman going on to have lengthy reigns as NWA Worlds Heavyweight Champion.

That relationship has turned sour in recent weeks with Aldis revealing he was leaving the promotion when his contract expires, leading to him being suspended with Billy Corgan accusing Aldis of going “scorched earth” on the NWA.

Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T has commented on the situation from his point of view and thinks Nick Aldis wasted a lot of his prime years on the “impossible” task of reviving the NWA:

“He’s past his prime I mean I think I mean he spent five years in the NWA that’s a long time. He’s wasted a lot of time trying to make that thing work. Nick Aldis was one of the first guys that I remember having any type of recognition in that company when they kicked back off, and it seemed like he wanted to be the guy that wore that NWA Championship that brought that NWA brand back to the forefront of professional wrestling.”

“To try to bring that brand back, it’s almost impossible. I mean, the NWA is a relic of what professional wrestling was back then.”
