Booker T has taken a slightly different approach to analyzing the incident between CM Punk and The Elite, comparing it to a fight of his own with Batista.

With the heightened temperatures there will always be in a business like professional wrestling, it’s no surprise that sometimes the competitors come to blows. One of the most talked about was a fight between Booker T and Batista, which became more noticeable because it was on a commercial shoot for SummerSlam 2006 rather than backstage behind closed doors.

In a discussion on his Hall of Fame podcast, WWE Hall Of Famer Booker T compared the fight he had to the one in AEW, saying that whilst his own experience wasn’t personal he expects that what he is seeing happen at the moment is.

People can say what they want to say about Batista and I and the altercation him and I had back in the day. It was a serious altercation, serious as any could ever be. But, there wasn’t one day that I didn’t think that I couldn’t work with Batista.

It was like, we had an altercation, it was a fight, I think I got my respect out of it, I think he realized, ‘Hey, man, maybe I shouldn’t talk to Booker T a certain way,’ it was water under the bridge. But it wasn’t like, to this day I’m holding animosity to him because him and I had an altercation. That’s where it’s different with something like [in AEW] it’s like a personal thing.

It is alleged that a backstage brawl broke out after AEW All Out this past weekend, and that a number of superstars have been suspended whilst it is expected that there will have to be changes to CM Punk’s position as World Champion.
