Blockbuster Plans For Brock Lesnar And Oba Femi Scrapped By WWE
Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi delivered, but would fans have loved some more of it?
Ahead of WrestleMania 42, The Beast issued an open challenge for the premium live event. For a second, it seemed like Seth Rollins was going to accept the challenge, but it was Oba Femi who accepted it.
At The Grandest Stage of All, Femi squashed The Beast. He conquered Lesnar, and it seems that it was Lesnar’s last match. The Beast opened his boots and gloves and left them in the middle of the ring.
WWE had different plans for Brock Lesnar vs. Oba Femi
Brock Lesnar marking the end of the journey at WrestleMania 42 was on nobody’s 2026 bingo card. Fans already witnessed AJ Styles retire as a WWE star at the Royal Rumble 2026. So, Lesnar’s retirement was quite the shock.
Interestingly, WWE gave the fans a one-off match between Lesnar and Femi. Originally, it was supposed to be a full-fledged feud between the beasts! Dave Meltzer reported the same on Wrestling Observer Radio.
At one point, they were actually going to do a (full) feud with Brock Lesnar and Oba Femi, but that was dropped weeks ago.
At one point, this was not going to be a one-and-done. [H/t: Wrestletalk]

There are signs that Brock Lesnar’s retirement is a work, but Brock Lesnar and Paul Heyman shared a heartfelt hug in the middle of the ring, which did not seem scripted at all.
