Big Mistake! Tony Khan Chooses This Star As The AEW World Champion
The main event of AEW Dynasty was one that the fans were eagerly anticipating for all night, as MJF put his AEW World Championship on the line tonight against Kenny Omega.
Ever since the start of this year, Omega has made it clear that he wants to win the World Championship once again, and he has been focused on becoming the champion again.
He defeated Swerve Strickland in a number one contender’s match on Dynamite a couple of weeks back to earn a shot at MJF’s title, which was confirmed to be for AEW Dynasty tonight.
Both men started the match looking to gain the advantage in the match, but it was Kenny who took control of the match first. He dominated MJF on the outside of the ring and almost put him through a table from a top rope dive.
MJF rolled out the way before Omega could hit the dive, and that’s when the champion took hold of the match, but couldn’t do it for long. Kenny Omega left no stone unturned to put MJF away throughout the match as he stayed in control for the majority of the bout.

The Salt of the Earth tried to come back into the match on multiple occasions as both of them pushed each other to the limit. Omega almost had the match won after he hit MJF with an Avalanche One-Winged Angel.
He picked the champ up on his neck and onto the top turnbuckle before hitting the move. However, he was completely spent after performing his finisher and couldn’t go for the cover in time, and MJF rolled out of the ring.
MJF then kicked out of the V-trigger as well before connecting with a Package Piledriver on Omega, but it was then his turn to kick out at the last second. Omega then issued a flurry of attacks on the champion before following it up with a couple of V-triggers.

However, just when Omega was about to hit him with another knee strike, MJF pulled the referee in front of him, and Omega knocked out the referee. MJF then hit a low blow on his challenger before trying to hit him with the Dynamite Diamond Ring.
Omega evaded the ring before hitting a One-Winged Angel on MJF, but a new referee came out too late to the ring, and MJF kicked out by the time he reached. The new referee went to check on the knocked-out one and allowed MJF to weasel his way out.
This time, he connected with the Dynamite Diamond Ring loaded right hand on the ring apron before hitting a Piledriver through the table set on the outside. He then brought him back in and hit a Heatseeker to retain his AEW World Championship.
